On the day that the Winteringham websites published the 145 year-old forgotten poem to Queen Victoria, written by Ann Barratt, Ken Jacobs went to the churchyard to find and record her headstone. Though the Curate who wrote out the poem referred to her as an ‘old woman’ she lived another 20 years.
Whilst there, Ken also took a wonderful picture of the church itself, which is highly reminiscent of the one taken by Lewis Carroll barely a year after Ann had written her lines.
But Ken was not alone, as the toad and he caught one another’s eye.
