Croix de Guerre for Maurice Bell, July 1918 Maurice Bell joined the Royal Army Medical Corps in the Great War, being presented with the Belgian Croix de Guerre in July 1918, by order of the King of the Belgians. It could be awarded to non-Belgians only for acts of heroism on Belgian soil. more Bell photos We believe Serjeant R Sutton was awarded a Military Medal in the Great War. Does anyone have confirmation of this, please?

Winteringham on Top Gear Top Gear featured a race across the Humber between Graham Boanas (walking across) and James May driving round. The final part of James May’s drive was down Booth Nooking Lane! The episode was shown in November 2007, and again on 16th August. You can see it on YouTube, here. (You can even pause it near the end to check that you can see the church, Beacon Hill, and some village houses!).
