Graham BoanasWinteringham on Top Gear
Top Gear featured a race across the Humber between Graham Boanas (walking across) and James May driving round. The final part of James May’s drive was down Booth Nooking Lane! The episode was shown in November 2007, and again on 16th August.  You can see it on YouTube, here.  (You can even pause it near the end to check that you can see the church, Beacon Hill, and some village houses!).

Village Sign photographed by Harry WellsEarthquake Hits Winteringham
Christine Hammond
Residents were woken during the night Tuesday 26th/Wednesday 27th when an earthquake hit the village.  It was sufficiently strong for it to be necessary for people to check their roof tiles to see if any damage had been caused. The ‘quake had an epicentre 9.6 miles below Market Rasen, and was 5.4 on the Richter scale - one of the biggest recorded on the UK mainland.
