Winteringham School pupils have been busy studying a physical science project with teacher Mr Clayton, and helped by Harry Wells.  As part of the project Howard Boyd, an expert on John Harrison, the local man renowned for his chronometer.  As part of the lesson, Howard provided a brilliant demonstration on the theory of the pendulum using an arrow and a pear!

Howard is also famous for his creation of the world famous Longitude Carving.
