people who proffer some food to birds in our delightful part of North Lincolnshire, the more birds we’ll see in the village.
We’ve twisted the arm of Harry Wells who has created many feeding and nest boxes, and he has generously agreed to make these for a cost of just £2 to cover the cost of his supplies. That’s terrific value! Harry will also offer advice on the best positioning, orientation and fixing. He’ll even supply a special base so that swallows can make their nest on modern houses.
Harry tells us that there is still a possibility that boxes erected this year could be used by nesting birds this spring and summer, though they like to have a chance to get used to the boxes before using them. In any case, the sooner the boxes are in position, the earlier birds can explore their possibilities and the more likely they are to make use of their new home next year.
Harry also tells us that the house martin nesting bracket is only necessary where plastic guttering and fascia
