Village Hall

Winteringham has a Village Hall situated on South Side.  This has a large room and a smaller meeting room as well as a kitchen and toilets.  There is an adjacent car park

The hall is available for hire both for private functions and by organisations.

The contact is Mrs Jackie Bateman.
Tel. 01724 733912

Playing Field

The village has a Playing Field on South Side which was extended in 2003 when the Parish Council were able to purchase land from North Lincolnshire Council.

There is a fenced area in which there is play equipment for the children.  Standing at the side of this area is the new Teen Shelter where the local youngsters can gather for a chat.

The large grassed area allows plenty of scope for ball games and there is also an All Weather Sports Facility. In a summer this is used solely for tennis but in a winter the youngsters can play basket ball, five-a-side football or any other game they wish.

Bus Service

Winteringham is very fortunate to be on the route of the Humber Link Bus.  This means that there are buses travelling in both directions through the village every hour.

It is possible to travel into Scunthorpe and from there to catch a bus or train to anywhere in the country.  Or in the other direction take the bus to Barton and either catch the train to Grimsby or stay on the bus and journey over the Humber Bridge to Hull.

Mobile Library

Winteringham Library van

Two mobile library vehicles bring the library service to the people of rural North Lincolnshire.

Each vehicle carries a selection of adult and children's books, talking books and computers, as well as providing an access point to all library and council services.

The current vehicles came into operation in the autumn of 1999. These state-of-the-art vehicles provide a wide range of services as well as the traditional book lending facilities.

Spring House

A residential home for older people is situated on the corner of Marsh Lane and Western Green. The building is a beautiful old house which has been tastefully modernised and turned into a small home where local residents enjoy the surroundings whilst being cared for in safety.

The Environment

The ‘Green Bins’ are collected every Thursday, and the ‘Blue Box’ for waste paper once per fortnight (see calendar for next collection).

There is a collection point at the Ferry Boat Inn for textiles and metal cans.

Everything else can be taken to the Refuse Centre at Winterton (on Winteringham Road).
